Here's the electronic Newman House bulletin for our first Mass.
Welcome back, returning students! And returning students, let me join you in welcoming and praying for God’s blessing on our new freshmen and transfer students, as well as the new graduate and professional students! This is a time of great joy as our community grows with the new members God has given us. We thank God for you.
As most of you know, we celebrate Mass together on campus every Sunday night at 8pm in Morris Chapel. Below you’ll find a couple of news items, including the opportunity to join our social committee.
Back to School Events
- Sunday, 8/24 10am-1pm: Faith and Justice Fair (Newman House will have a table)
- Sunday, 8/24 8:00pm: First Mass of the New Academic Year (Morris Chapel, on campus)
- Sunday, 8/24 after Mass: Pizza Dinner in the Kirkbride Room (next to Morris Chapel); all are welcome, great for learning new names, no charge
- Monday, 8/25 12pm-1:30pm: Lunch Behind the Liar Meet new and returning students as well as the Catholic chaplain. Just grab your lunch and bring it to the deck on the second floor of the University Center.

May God bless us all this week with the courage to meet new people and share our lives with them. May we especially connect with anyone who doesn’t seem to be making friends as quickly as others. May we plan our semester with balance, so as not to neglect the importance of prayer, sleep, and play. Amen.
